Good Chance Theatre of Calais

Description:
We want to convey the humanity which exists at the core of this international crisis. When we first visited Calais many months ago, we were struck by everyone’s willingness to tell their story. In many cases this willingness was a need. So we set about creating Good Chance, a theatre space for people to do just that. A place for people to come together, irrespective of who they are or where they come from. Somewhere they will always be welcome, warm and safe. A space for them to tell their stories however they want, to express themselves and their situations, or simply to escape and have some fun. Many have left behind close family and don’t know if they’ll see them again. They’ve been on momentous journeys over desert and sea, losing friends along the way. They live now in the jungle in appalling circumstances with a deeply uncertain future.
